M&S Christmas favourites
Our in-house experts share their #MyMarksFave festive food for the big day and beyond: it just wouldn’t be Christmas without them
The perfect turkey
For our food expert Chris Newbold, our perfect turkey will be the crowning glory of his festive feast on the big day. “All my family will love tucking into this turkey, as it has both light and dark meat. It’s really simple to carve, too.”
The perfect sirloin of beef with roast beef butter
“This is not just a beef joint,” says M&S food buyer Charlotte Craddock. “This is our ‘perfect’ beef joint, with roast beef butter to keep it beautifully moist.” New this year, it’s perfect for your big-day lunch or St.Stephen's Day celebrations. Serve with all the traditional trimmings and your favourite red wine.
Scottish Spey Bey signature-smoked salmon
For our in-house product developer Rosie Eiduks, it just isn’t Christmas until you’ve gathered the family for a glass of fizz and some delicious smoked salmon. “And this is not just smoked salmon,” she says. “This is M&S smoked salmon, cured in gin. For me, it’s the real taste of Christmas.”
Plant Kitchen festive roast
More of us are going meat-free this year, but that doesn’t mean missing out on a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. “This vegan roasting joint with a cranberry and chestnut filling, new to our range this year, packs in all the festive flavours I love,” says M&S food product developer Claire Richardson. “It even comes with moreish Plant Kitchen cocktail sausoyges.”
Black forest gateau
If you fancy something different from Christmas pudding, our new black forest gateau, made with cherry compote and a cream filling with chocolate curls on top, makes a wow-worthy centrepiece. “Light, creamy and bursting with cherry and chocolate flavours, this gateau is a great alternative to Christmas pud,” says product developer Maddie Lovett.
Brie en croute
Need a delicious centrepiece for a Christmas Eve gathering, or an indulgent way to round off your feast on the big day? Look no further than our brie en croute. “Melty, gooey French brie wrapped in our amazing all-butter pastry: nobody will be able to resist,” says food product developer Rosie Eiduks.
